Caves of Qud - Hermetic Crabs (Burgeoning Jam 2026)

Adds a new faction, Hermetic Crabs, consisting of carcinoid scholars (and some close associates) dedicated to unraveling the world's deepest natural secrets from the comfort of their mobile carapace homes. Includes a total of five new creatures with unique features and abilities.

Named Hermetic Crab archivists can be found traversing Hills, Desert Canyon and Mountain zones, always with an entourage of supporting scholars. They will trade books from their public library, and can be water-ritualed to improve your standing with the faction.
